Day 1 - Incheon, Seoul and Jeju.

14th Nov.

Dad drove us to the airport, T2. He looked really sad that day, and not only he have to drive home alone, he still have to go to work. So I gave dad a goodbye hug, then mum abandoned the luggages and '' NNNNNNNN 我也要一个! '' and she hugged dad.

Saddest farewell we had.

Looked at dad driving off the car when we're in T2. Took the sky train to T3. I don't like the sky trains now, they no longer have the front seat when there's a clear view of the sky train tracks and the worst part is they don't pick up their speed anymore.

Still remembered the times when dad and mum used to bring me to the airport, to watch planes, play playground near the swensen's@ T1, and ride on sky trains. It used to go slow then suddenly zoom fast then slows down again when it reaches T2.

Walked around T3 and decided to just take pictures. SELF TIMER IS MY BEST PALZ.

Was around 8.30pm, headed back to T2 to meet tour leader Yanping at 8.50pm at row 6. Yanping ! She's so kind-hearted, so different from the talkative and annnoying me. She gave me her essential hair mask thingy cause I had a really bad tangled-hair-experience there, and the badly-tangled-hair stayed with me from day 1 of korea all the way back to SG.

I still can't believe it started to snow in korea after I'm back for just... 2 weeks !? It was -1degree when we're at Seoul for the first day but it didn't snowed at all. Why is it snowing in Europe when the temperature's higher than korea. I don't get it.
When we stayed at the ski resort, it was around -2degree, leaves are frozen, but it wasn't snowing. But there was snow at the ski place. IT WASN'T SNOWING BUT THERE WAS SNOW. It just makes no sense.

...........................................

Departing soooooooooooon.

10.50pm flight. Full house with 90% koreans and 10% tourists like us. Don't really like night flights because it just seems to be more dangerous I don't know why. Worse, I didn't get a window seat. Felt more insecure. Window seats are the best part of a flight, I get to see what I could never see on the ground, I get to clouds, get to go through clouds and experience turbulence. At least if the plane crashes, I knew how I died.

Thanks to the movies and music, I survived the 6hours flight without looking outside of the window :/

Watched the whole movie, can't believe there is actually a possibility now that korean war will make a comeback again.

Didn't sleep for the whole 6 hours, watched 71 into the fire and abit of Eclipse and then the rest goes to bigbang's album.

DID I MENTION I HAD A MINI STOMACHACHE ALL THE WAY FROM CHANGI AIRPORT TO ALREADY ONBOARD THE PLANE? The fatal stomachache was actually on 12th nov, Friday, 2 days before I leave for korea. Jia min and clara had witnessed it and it was so motherfuckingly pain that I couldn't stand straight and just have to keep bending my body when I'm sitting. Luckily mum came to my rescue cause I couldn't stand it anymore and called her.

The after-effects lasted for 2 days and I was so worried at changi airport that this stupid stomachache will follow me throughout korea.

So the first plane meal we had was around 4am, and I didn't even bothered to take a picture of it which I usually would cuz I don't feel well and the food's not so well too. Seafood noodles, a bun with jam, grapes and other fruits, yogurt etc. I didn't even touched the yogurt !!!!!!! - I hate stomachache seriously. The grapes very crunchy, I like !

Landed around 5.50am, we looked around and saw most of the koreans wearing their down jackets already. Mum and I were still wearing just long sleeves so we started to panick and wondered if it's so colddddddddd.

Walked out from the plane, and we felt it cause there's always this gap connecting the plane to the idk call what, the bridge connector it shall be. Heard one old korean guy said '' CHU-OH ~ ''

The moment when I first felt the cold air, it's like my heart pumped faster, all the way from pulmonary vein to aorta to vena cava and then to pulmonary artery. It's like screaming in my mind that ''A NEW JOURNEY IS ABOUT TO BEGIN SOON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! '' and it just felt so great.

Kiasu Mum immediately took out the coats from the bag.

I can still remember how excited I was when we stepped outta the plane. Now it's all........... memories. :(

TO BE CONTINUED.

15th Nov, 6am korean time.
We moved on towards a counter but it wasn't the passport one. This was where we first met and talked to Auntie Miaolin and Uncle. The korean guy sitting behind the counter was a rude one. Both auntie and uncle couldn't understand english cause they were from indonesia, so I told the korean guy, IN ENGLISH, that they were not from Singapore cause I don't know for what reaon why he allowed singaporeans to pass through without getting checked.

And we just kept arguing, I couldn't understand his korean and he couldn't understand my english. So he continued his !@#$%^&* and finally he slapped his hand on his forehead and goes ''Aigoooooo ! '' and finally let uncle and auntie to come with us.
Mum said he was scolding us vulgarities all the while AHAHA

After all the queuing, we got out and waited for our luggages at belt (I forget). Clumsy uncle found out that his handphone was missing and after much help, the phone was found in their plane seats. AND SO, WE FINALLY ARRIVED AT THE ARRIVAL HALL ^^

Welcomed by our tour leader, XiaoLi ! He did a mini briefing and we had the time from 7.40am to 8.10am to unpack our stuff to get our coats, wear heat-tech clothes, brush teeth, drink coffee, buy drinks. When mum was busy packing, I was busy looking at the doors, the doors that lead to the real weather outside the airport. I couldn't stand it anymore.

me : MIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII 我受不了,我出去外面看一下啊!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (ran to the door)

OMGIREALLYMISSTHEFEELING.

The auto-door opened, I took a step. And then another auto door opened, I walked out slowly, out to the cool weather. I finally felt the air and I let out my biggest grin even though I can't see it myself. I looked around and saw people speaking with smoke coming out from their mouths. So I did the ''Harrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr'' despite heavy bad breath and there it was. One of my wish is now fulfilled ! I find it so cool to have smoke coming out when someone talks except for smokers of course, influenced by dramas I think. Tried to ''harrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr'' at genting for countless times and only once, JUST ONCE, I get to see smoke.

The temperature felt like Genting to me at first, then after looking around the surroundings, my cheeks started to get numb like how I always feel after the genting-alot-ppl-swinging-that-carousel-thingy ride. So I went back in to find mum and she gave me the heat-tech clothes from uniqlo so went to toilet to change, and then with a coat, I ran out again, this time with my camera !

.
.
.
.
.
.
HEHE, tried all ways to capture the smoke ~

Ran back in to the airport to help mum take care of our luggages while it's her turn to change into heat-tech clothes. She gave me 1000won to buy a bottle of water at their minimart. So I went to the shop, saw auntie miaolin there too and she was asking me whether to buy 1 big bottle or just a small one, of course a small one since I don't drink much water.
But I didn't know which mum would prefer too, so I went to the toilet to ask her, she told me anything lah in her annoyed voice so I went back to the store. I couldn't make up my mind so I went back to the toilet again to ask for her opinion and this time she really got feddup and !@#$%^ at me. SO DIU LIAN LOR, ALMOST ALL THE AIR STEWARDESS-ES IN THERE WERE BRUSHING THEIR TEETH WITH THEIR EYES NOT ON MIRROR BUT ON ME.

So I went back to the store and took the small bottle, it cost 700won. I still couldn't get over the fact that their money is so ''big'', I mean 700 in SGD is enough for me to buy something from LV, at least a keychain but now it's only worth a bottle of water. XiaoLi told us that to us, it will be fun to to spend money cause it's all over hundreds even for a mini candy AHAHA LIKE SOME SPENDTHRIFT LIKE THAT ~

Gathered at Gate 12 with the rest.

The rest including us :

1. Me and Mum
2. Auntie Miaolin and Uncle
3. Malaysia Newly-wed
4. The 4 Old Heroes - Robinhood, Holunghood, Dasao and Angela (FUNNY PEOPLE ME LIKE ^^)
5. The (dont talk much) Family and a brother - father mother son and the unknown brother.
6. The 7 People Families - Smoking dad and smoking mum (both look like from triad hahaha but friendly peeps), their chubby son, Funny dad (which resembles hector yang !), smoking mum's sister (also a mum lol) and their 2 daughters.
7. Yanping - tour leader, Leo - the always smiling photographer, and XiaoLi - tour guide !

On our way to our bus ! XiaoLi ahead of us. Kinda envy him, he can speak chinese fluently and speak korean even more fluently. It's like a total change of person when he speaks chinese to us then suddenly speaks korean so fluently to Leo and the driver.

Chose the 2nd row seats, they on the warmer onboard the bus so many of us felt stuffy and all of us opened the mini window. XiaoLi told us that we'll find it cooling now because all the while we're trapped in the plane with no cool weather but later on we'll find out how cold it actually is going to be. -1degree !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The fivestar people have told us that korea's tour guides don't like it when people talk or look outside their window to snap pictures (which is so me) when they're talking on the bus. BUT HAHAHA I MANAGED TO ^^

Crossing over to Seoul from Incheon on the veryveryvery long bridge which was visible on the plane when we're heading home.

Kept sticking my hand out of the bus window to feel the cool air like how I always do when we're going up genting.
We were supposed to fly to Jeju from Gimpo airport but our flight was around 3pm, so we had the whole morning and noon and some afternoon to walk around Seoul and complete some venues we're supposed to visit when we fly back to Seoul from Jeju 2 days later.

Along the bus ride from Incheon Airport to Seoul !

Reached our first destination - Cheongwadae ! (Blue house) I lost my itinerary so I had to google for palaces in korea before I can find the correct name for it TEEHEEHEE.

Wikipedia, aka jm's best friend : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue_House

Anyway we were told that we can't take any pictures of the palace when we're on the bus and if we're caught, those security/police/guards will just confiscate our memory card.

...................................................................................................................................................

Finally ! We alighted and took a good 5minute walk to the view of the palace. AND THAT WAS WHEN WE FELT THE REAL COLD.

I have to constantly rub my cheeks using my hands to make sure it's not numb and noble mum gave me her pair of gloves and I was so thankful cause I felt that my fingers will be dropping off anytime and the pocket of my coat wasn't warm at all!!!!!!!!!!!

But wearing gloves is one big problem to use the camera so we sorta took turns to wear the gloves. Pictures are deceiving AHAHA, we look all smiley-smiley here but we're freezing like some frozen hotdogs in the fridge.

-
Yes, this is the NEAREST distance we get to take a shot with that palace or ...... blue house.
standing on a (stand here to take a picture of the view behind) thingy.
'' Aiyah go take pictures with the orange leaves better, zaozaozao, '' I muttered to mum.

Walked back the road we walked just now, took more pictures with some statues and a cute little hill behind it.

All of us were frozen when waiting for the traffic light to turn green, it's like taking forever to cross the road and all that's on our mind was THAT WARM LITTLE COSY BUS AHEAD OF US.
So after crossing the road, mum and I ran/raced for the bus and my cheeks got really numbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbb and I couldn't feel my fingers and I got scared so I kept wriggling it and once I was onboard the bus, I shut off that mini bus window beside my seat and my hands dived for the cosy gloves immediately when mum passed it to me.

Lip balm and drink more water time~

A 2minute drive to our next destination, a museum of korea's culture !

But we still have to walk another 5minute of the outdoors before we get to reach the indoor museum. Again, ran towards the museum for their warmer inside !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wedding.
.
.
.
I don't know what's this but my mum looks kinda cute here LOL.

not gonna touch all these in singapore for as long as I can :S
KIMCHIIIIIIIIIIIII

Ancient times already got fashion,THE CUTE VEST ^^ probably cost $49.90 somewhere in orchard

AND THE BOOTS, LIKE SO CUTE !
CUTEST WILL DEFINITELY BE 1ST ONE FROM BOTTOM RIGHT

Nexttttttttttttttt. I don't remember if we walked or take a bus to the next destination. Okay mini mai ni mini more, I think is walk !

So we entered this Gyeongbokgung Palace, lucky I still have the entry ticket with me, so we entered on 2010-11-15, (15th Nov) at 10.25am and the ticket price was 1200won. LOL EXPENSIVE SHIATZ. 1200SGD can go MarinaBaySands hotel stay a few nights. This is what we did everyday when we spend the won there :S
XiaoLi said he hates bringing his tour groups to this place the most because in summer, there's no shelter to hide from the heat. And then in winter, there's no shelter to hide from snow and wind. SNOW. T_T

can't imagine falling into the water at this kind of temperature.
It looks so summer-ish in the background.

forget take out ugly shiatz in front of my eyes.

UNDER THE TREE TO HIDE FROM WIND, NOT SUNNNNN
FALLING DOWN, not even my mum can do this pose.

Everyone was so happy when we're going to leave that place - minority were just hungry and majority were COLD+HUNGRY+TIRED+BORED.

Headed to our first lunch in korea ! It was some hidden underground restaurant along the streets, superduper cool ! Not like those shops along Lucky plaza, it's like 2 or 3floors deep and there's only stairs. Okay lame I think singapore also have such places just that I've never seen one :(

Bibimbap's nice, don't know why we only get to eat it once throughout our entire trip, the rest were 99% steamboat/BBQ.

first meal, first time see korea kimchi and stuff on the table...................

1st time eat = NICE, WAH NOT BAD SIAZ, SHIOK.
2nd time = HMM STILL NICE.
3rd time = ''NO MORE DISHES OTHER THAN KIMCHI?'' Nvm still can eat.
4th time = Eat 1 small piece of kimchi and shiver with eyes-rolling/closing.
5th time = Not touching kimchi at all.

And the rest of the times stayed the same as either the 4th or the 5th.

Seriously everything comes with kimchi, and they can't live without eating it everyday. I'm really amazed. Wonder if they dip their macdonald fries in kimchi sauce. Anyway it's healthy food ! But I won't be able to live if I need to eat it for EVERY SINGLE MEAL.

AND MY HAIR GOT TANGLED AT THIS POINT,
1 BIG CHUNK OF ENTANGLED HAIR CAUSE OF THE FLIPPING OF HOODIES+WIND.

GS25, another one's called Family Mart.
More shops called Dunkin Donuts, Paris Baguette .
They have these shops along like EVERY streets of seoul city.

I was watching their streets all the time from the bus, don't really bear to sleep. And then I saw it, I saw one BigBang poster hanging by, it was a Daesung LG wallpaper LOL. But throughout the whole trip I only saw one, the rest were all either GD or TOP. ALSO SAW THE ROTIBOY CAFE, finally got to note down the street name when I saw it for the 2nd time ! When it went pass the bus for the first time and I couldn't catch what the street name was, I was so devastated cause I thought I will never see it again and can only go back to BBupdates to see the pictures of that shop. -.-'' .

Yeah, I really want to go on a F&E trip to korea again and take a stroll along their streets, have a hot chocolate with a donut at Dunkin Donuts when I'm tired, go to Family Mart and buy a drink and then continue walking with a headphone with me, so it'll be alright even if it's alone. ^^ And there comes the communication problem......

BUY A DRINK. I FORGET TO BUY THE BANANAMILK DRINK THAT YOOGEUN LOVED IN HELLOBABY. That was also the drink that XiaoLi told us to try too, I saw the drink at GS25, Family Mart, almost everywhere from Day 1 to Day 6 and I just kept telling myself to buy it on my last day and then when I finally remember to, it was TOO LATE.

I was already on Korean Air, touching down at changi airport like in around 10minute or something. FML I WANT TO TRY THAT DRINK!!!!!!

I went to cinnileisure to find the korean store and FUCKNO THEY SELL ALL KIND OF DRINKS FROM KOREA BUT DON'T SELL THAT CUTE BOTTLE OF MILK NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

T_T

Okay if I ever have the chance to go there again, the first thing I do when I reach their arrival hall is to BUY THAT DRINK. RAWRRRRRRRRRR.

-

So after lunch and we're on our way to Gimpo Airport.

3rd time in a domestic airport ! First was johor Senai airport and second was Ipoh's one. There was once I saw a flight that flies to Senai Airport from Changi Airport at teletext. LOLWTF MALAYSIA IS ONLY 1 BRIDGE AWAY FROM SINGAPORE, STILL NEED WASTE FUEL TAKE AIRPLANE. I think the passengers have barely enough time to choose Orange juice or Coffee cause after it takes off for 1minute it is going to land in 2minutes time already. So ridiculous.

BACK TO GIMPO AIRPORT !

couldn't believe it's almost 0degree out there.

KOREAN AIR AGAIN !

HAN RIVER !? (Have 23 bridges across it)
like a sea of clouds, so beautiful

Reached Jeju airport, took a mini bus to the arrival hall !

SO COOL, Jeju island have a Jeju Air !

XiaoLi told us it wouldn't be so cold in Jeju cause it's like the most southern part of korea, but I seriously feel no difference in the temperature, still as cold but shiokzzz.

It was already around 4.30pm when we reached Jeju, so only got to visit 2 destinations. The first one was this Mysterious Path/Road.

It was an upward slope but the vehicles there including our bus did not need to on the engine to drive cause it will auto go forward the upward slope. Ridiculous but there's actually a little trick because the slope wasn't really upward, it LOOKS LIKE but it's actually going downwards. K I'm just explaining what XiaoLi told us, they poured water at the upward slope but it flowed downwards.

Not very interested cause I'm not a science fanatic so went on to take more pictures with a FISHY and some flowery mini meadow that resembles tumblr pictures but I didn't dare to take much pictures cause we actually heard the rattling of a snake, and without my specs, I don't think I can even realise if I've stepped on one. PICSPICSPICS.

Next destination was this Dragon Head 龙头碧 thing by the sea. The strong wind by the sea is enough to keep us from walking down the long flight of stairs to spot the dragon head, so we just went to listen to the explanation and headed to the nearby souvenir shop to hide from the wind, then to the toilet. Normally when my hand's cold, the water always feels hot. But in korea, when my hand's cold enough, the water is 10 times colder. Shiver *
Went on to have our dinner at a 2nd floor restaurant ! Kinda like my fav meal too ^^ Vege wrap meat with some rice and chilli sauce = SHIOK !

Headed back to cosy Jeju Pacific hotel. WATCHED 2DAYS1NIGHT ON TV BUT COULDN'T UNDERSTAND AT ALL W/O ENG SUB AND THIS WAS THE SAME EPISODE I WATCHED LAST WEEK ON KBS WORLD. When hodong challenges lee mangi on wrestling.

I have 6 more days to post. Less than 20 days to do so. Need to stop watching videos and upload like madgirl_1994 !
